Meet Emily…the designer of Masterpiece Quilts
When we first started making quilts, it was hard not to second guess Emily’s designs. But it soon became apparent that she had a knack for putting colors together in a beautiful way. I learned to let her have free reign! I have so many stories I could tell you how God revealed to us her designs were exactly what was needed for an order.
Emily doesn’t just design each quilt, she also irons all the prairie points, helps sew each square and each row together (with a tiny bit of help from me), and pulls all the pins. When the quilt top is done, she is eager to open it up and give it a look. I bind and top stitch the quilt like a framer for the artist’s work.
To celebrate Emily’s extra chromosome, in each quilt there is one square or prairie point different than the rest.
